Molasses is very rich in calcium and iron. Valence of iron that can be absorbed by our body is + 2, and in many cases, iron taken outside with +3 valence cannot be converted into + 2. However, valence of iron in grapes and therefore molasses is+ 2 just as requested by our body. In other words the molasses we eat in the morning will meet almost half of our daily iron need. In addition, glucose in molasses is the energy source of brain.

Experts recommend that children should eat molasses which is an important energy source in breakfast at least 5 days a week to be protected from the cold. Molasses should be eaten by children especially in cold weather because it increases the resistance of the body, has proteins that protect against infections and contains high nutritional value.
